There’s nothing like a disaster or a threat to their desired status quo to bring out the true nature of Republicans. Speaking to Fox News, Republican campaign adviser Jay Townsend had this to say about the workers in Wisconsin, and by extension anybody who disagrees with Republican ideology:

“I take away this. Number one, elections have consequences. Number two, unions will never have any trouble renting a riot, and number three, when you gore that pig and wound it, it can make a lot of noise, and that’s the message I would take out of this.”

So, anyone who is standing up for their rights and voicing their opinion and practicing their free speech rights is a pig that’s been gored and wounded. That sounds about right for Republican thought. But let’s remember that elections only have consequences when they win. When the other side wins, it’s obviously a socialist, communist, Marxist, Nazi takeover of the country.

Then we have Larry Kudlow, who shows you exactly where his priorities are, even in the face of a natural disaster and the untold loss of human life. Speaking on CNBC while watching market reaction to the earthquake in Japan, Kudlow said this:

“The human toll here looks to be much worse than the economic toll and we can be grateful for that.”

Yes, let’s not forget what the real concern is in this situation: the almighty dollar, the golden calf before which every Republican must prostrate themselves in obeisance. Screw Jesus, he’s just the phony billboard hiding the true obsession of the right-wing: money and greed.

These people make me sick. They’re an affront to humanity and everything that is good and decent.
